Senior Accountant
Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Senior Accountant is responsible for a portfolio of accounting responsibilities, recording journal entries, preparing account reconciliations, involvement in monthly and quarterly reporting as well as assisting in the preparation of the annual budget.
Key Responsibilities:
Complete revenue coding for certain geographical locations
Perform bank reconciliations
Oversee accounts receivable process to ensure accuracy and completion
Prepare internal monthly reporting by office and monthly expense analysis
Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly group reporting requirements
Prepare certain month-end general ledger account reconciliations
Assist in the preparation of the annual budget
Engage in actions that encourage, reflect and align with PPI’s ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) commitments to our Advisors, their clients and our employees
Education, Experience and Skills
Minimum of five years’ experience in accounting and financial reporting
Undergraduate degree or diploma/certificate in a related field, e.g., Business Administration or Accounting and a professional accounting designation (CPA)
Prior industry experience an asset, candidates directly from public practice will also be considered
Full cycle accounting knowledge and an analytical mindset to be able to see beyond the numbers
Outstanding attention to detail and proven accuracy
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational and time management skills with a proven ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities
Effective problem-solving capabilities
A self-motivated, results driven individual with the ability to work independently while being committed to functioning as a team player
Ability to work under pressure, maintaining a professional image and attitude
Intermediate+ knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, particularly Excel and Power Query
Experience with Dynamics Great Plains or Business Central would be an asset, at a minimum some large ERP system experience is required
